Tie Guan Yin Oolong, Premium Grade

Tie Guan Yin (pronounced "tee-air gwan in") literally translates as the Iron Goddess of Mercy. 

This premium variety of this tea is a favourite among connoisseurs.  Competition grades of this tea have been known to reach thousands of pounds per kilo.

This is a truly excellent oolong, a house favourite and the one we start our days with. 

This tea is also known as Ti Kuan Yin, Tit Kwun Yum, Ti Kwan Yin, Tie Guan Yin and Iron Buddha tea.

Caffeine: Low-Medium

Origin: Fujian, China

Type: Light roasted high mountain oolong

Brew: 1 tbp per cup; near boiling water; 3 minutes for first infusion and then add 30 seconds for each subsequent infusion (good for 5 or 6 infusions). 

Great for morning or afternoon.
